As i am in Australia we unfortunately don't get to celebrate this fun holiday but in our house we still like to dress up in some kind of costume and i let my kiddies go to the neighbours for trick or treat :)
okay...that is totally fun! What little kid doesn't LOVE getting a balloon with treats inside? May have to steal this idea. We always go to my friends private haunted house....she goes ALL out and it is only for her friends...and my kids LOVE it! HOpe I win, I want this one soooo bad!
Love the balloon idea. We don't have any actual Halloween traditions since our little girl is only 2, but we do still dress her up and take her to see all 4 sets of grandparents!
Going to the orchard together and picking out the perfect pumpkins. Then going apple picking, and then home to eat apples and carve the perfect halloween jack-o-lantern!
Friends who live a in very rural area come to our suburban neighborhood for home-made hot soup & cocoa before going trick-or-treating with my son. It is great because without this tradition I thnik we would have lost touch long ago, instead we have a great evening catching up. Plus the pictures each year are so cute!
Oops! Forgot to share our tradition - we LOVE Halloween in our house and decorate just about every room (fun stuff, not the creepy kind), in addition to hosting an annual Halloween party for family & friends. We go a bit overboard!
We take the kids out trick or treating with our neighborhood kids and afterwards the kids eat some candy and the parents have a few beers around the firepit
Since my girls are grown and are hving families of their own, I now wait to see pictures of my little ones ready to go trick-or-treating. It is exciting to see who is going to be dressed up as who or what.
We got married on Halloween so it is always a big holiday at our house. We head over to my grandmas house for trick or treating with my daughter and then my husband and I go out for a nice dinner while grandma watches the toddler.
My home town does a parade every year, and I still take my son home to continue the tradition of everyone walking in the parade before the trick or treating begins! Its always so much fun!
My favorite Halloween tradition is carving pumpkins with my six children all together. Our oldest in now 19 and our youngest is 9 months but they all participate.
We dress up the boys and go trick-or-treating in my parents old neighborhood and most recently have been going to the pumpkin patch which is my favorite :)

That is a great tradition Bonnie! We have just started going to my parents house for a tractor ride and pumpkin picking.
No traditions for us yet. I just got married and we're expecting our first baby in September, so this will be our first Halloween!

My friends and I would always have a contest to see who got the most candy.
We walk down to the field at the local high school and watch the fireworks!
For the past few years we played World of Warcraft on holidays. Time to change that, since we now have a little trick-or-treater of our own!

We always drive 10 miles to my hometown and go to the Monster Mash at the Elementary School! It's the same thing we did when we were little!
We live out in the country so no trick-or-treaters here :(
My hubby alway make the house and yard look haunted
I used to decorate every year but my now 10 was afraid so I stopped! Lol
We do the traditional Pumpkin carving with the kids one representing each of us and in order by size - daddy being the biggest, mommy the second, etc.
With 4 little ones, they each get a little pumpkin to paint however they want and then daddy carves our big pumpkin!
Carve pumpkins is all we really do so far!
carving pumpkins is our favorite thing
at our house everyone gets dressed up - including the dog - and we make the rounds to family and friends.
We make our own costumes!

I make witch's stew(hamburger stew) for dinner along with a few other Halloween themed foods. Then we head out for trick-or-treating.
I dress up to give out candy. Kids think it's a hoot!!
Nothing other than the kids dressing up and trick or treating... never thought to have a tradition. Guess I'll have to figure one out!!!
The boys and I will dress up similiar. Like the last 2 years we have done star wars so we dressed up like Jedi's with light sabers!

We dress up and go to our church for a fall festival. We also go to the pumkin patch and pick out pumpkins to bring home.
