I love this afghan. I hate making projects more than once, and I've made this one no less than EIGHT times. It's fast, it's fun. It looks like you worked and slaved for days, when it really only took a few hours. I used to make one of these for every neighbor who had a baby. (I probably will again when my babies get big enough for me to concentrate on the same project for a while!)
This pattern is today's pattern of the day. You can win it free, however, by posting your favorite thing to give (or to receive!) a new baby. It doesn't have to be something you've made -- just something you love.

I started crocheting a baby afghan when I was first pregnant 31 yrs. ago.. I stopped for a few years and got back into it again.. So I would say that is probably my most favorite thing to give to new babies.. I made a beautiful pink one that is for my grand-daughter to be born at the end of this month.. Sophee..
My favorite thing to make for a baby would be little baby booties. They are just so cute and sweet.

I am a Mommy-to-be in September. The best things I have received were a handmade quilt and a star shaped afghan. I love these the best because they give you the gift of someone's time. These items will be cherished:)- Amanda
I love to crochet soft baby blankets as gifts. One of the greatest things given to me with my daughter was a handmade quilt from my aunt. My grandma also finds great fabric and makes blankets that are great for swaddling babies after the turn 3 months!
