To enter, share the first crochet project you ever finished. Technically, for me that was a whole ball of yarn that I made into a giant chain when I was six, but I don't think that counts. When I was 8, I made a hot pad. It took a month. It's so crooked and lopsided and ugly, but I still am proud of it when I see it at my mom's house.

The first crochet project I ever finished was a pillow that I made out of eyelash yarn. It was so soft and fuzzy.
First crochet project I ever finished was a ruffled scarf for my bestie. :D
I believe the first thing I ever made was a pet net. Hangs in the corner of a room to hold stuffed animals
I learned how to crochet when I was in the hospital when I broke my pelvis, and a friend was in on bed rest with her first child. So I made a baby afghan, ripple pattern.
Oh it was a hot pad when I was 7 years old and I was so mad at my mom because she wouldn't teach me anything else. At the time she was making those beautiful doll dresses that spread out over you bed!
My first ever was a baby blanket. The first stitch I learned was herringbone half double crochet because that is the only one my mother knows. I was 10
first thing i ever finished was a prayer shawl for some ladies at my church oober proud of it and never took pics of them :o( oh well
A baby beanie!
I made a pillow doll for my 4-H group when I was like 11. It was HARD and I still have it!
My frist finished project was a blanket for my dolls. I have no idea how old I was, had to less than 7. And now my daughter uses it for her dolls.
I made a hat! My church was doing a fundraiser to raise money for a mission trip. Members were asked to crochet or knit some type of hat to sell. I decided that I would learn how to crochet since it involved only holding 1 hook vs. two. It was just last fall when I started!
i have yet to finish a project! i was a little ambitious and tryied to make the soft shells hat as my first project! lol, i've got a couple knitting projects i'm working on finishing and then i'm gonna try the witch's hat!
A Harry Potter scarf :)
A baby blanket
I started making a hat but was so frustrated with it not coming out right I threw it away before I finished it. The first one I completed (which why this was the second attempt at a project I have no idea, but I am a bit of an over-achiever) was a pineapple throw afghan for a wedding present for my brother and his wife. They still use it! :-)
ummm...i think it was hot pads but i really can't remeber i was 6 or so and my mom tried to teach me but she is left handed and I am right so my neighbor taught me, i think we did hot pads since they were easy
Can't really remember, but probably a babyafghan in 1981 for my first baby.. Made many, many after that for so many babies.. Still doing it today!!
UMMM...when I was 13 I made a pillow. A great big pink and white granny square pillow. I couldnt sleep one night so I pulled and all nighter crocheting a pillow.
My grandmother passed away a few years ago and all I wanted was her crochet items. When I was looking thru her hooks, there was one that was terribly worn. On the side of it was scratched in the metal the name "Eva"...not only did I inherit my grandmothers items, but that particular hook was her sisters! I was so happy!
A baby blanket for my niece.
A giant granny square when I was 8. It took a week.
I believe the first project made was a blanket for my mom for her wedding day, turned out good except I couldnt figure out the edging so I made up my own, no one was none the wiser :)
A scarf!
Probably a scarf...I also helped my Aunt by crocheting stars to appliqué on an American Flag Afghan for an injured soldier.
Hmm... I think it was a baby blanket.
It was a super ugly blanket made out of a ton of different kinds of yarn.
Copying my grandma, I tried to crochet doilies with that thin crochet thread. Oh dear!
A scarf, it didn't turn out at all!
I tried a scarf and it was so uneven on the sides. After I learned a bit better, I frogged it and used the yarn in a blanket.
1-1/2 years ago, my first washcloth for a gift to my mom

I made a big granny square blanket for my home ec class in high school. There are lots of mistakes in it but I love it!
My first finished project was a little purple purse. It was supposed to be a blanket but I messed up and it started forming into a bag. I love it!!
I think it was a washcloth, when I was 8. :D It turned out more like a triangle...but I kept trying!
Mine was a scarf.
When I first learned to crochet when I was 5 I made "bookmarks." I'm sure it goes without saying that they were simply a chain with a fancy name! I even tried to sell them!
I was so thrilled at how fast crochet was compared to knitting that I made an afghan!
Crocheted edging for an embroider scarf when I was 8 or 9 years old.
I did a pink and white granny square blanket from a Japanese hello kitty crochet book. I learned to crochet while stationed in Japan 4 yrs ago. Never stopped since
A hat. Looked like it was made for a conehead! lol
A hot pad just a little less than a month ago... then it was a tuxedo cocoon :) I'm addicted now!
I learned to crochet in Girl Scouts when I was 10 and made a blanket for my Aunt's first baby. It was so ugly and crooked but she used it for all 5 of her kids. I wish I had it now...!
I crocheted a granny square afghan because that was the only stitch that I knew how to do. I have finally learned how to read patterns and am super excited about that.
My first crochet project was vegetable shaped pot holders when I was 8 year old. My mom and I did them together.

(decades later!)
A beanie. My grandma taught me to crochet when I was five and every sunday when I was at her house I worked on it again. It was not pretty but functional....lol.
